HOW I DYE MY HAIR AT HOME

When you need to retouch your hair, but you have no time to visit the salon
--- DIY is the way to go!

One fact about me is that I enjoy DIY tutorial videos on Youtube.
Ever since I was in high school, I love watching different DIY beauty vlogs. Coloring your own hair
is actually pretty easy when you get used to it. Especially when you're on a budget and have no time to visit your favorite salon. I suggest you try this at home! :)

My hair story:
I used to have a blonde-ash-gray hair way back in 2016. After that, I dyed my hair black early this year --- which I learned is a hard thing to do when you're the type of person who wants to change hair colors every now and then. I found out from a friend who owns a salon that dyeing your hair black will make it hard for you to make it light again because apparently, bleach damages your hair.

(We don't want that!)

Anyway, I dyed my hair black last April and after 4 months my hair looks like this...

As you can notice it turned lighter and the colors are starting to look uneven.
I'll share you one of the products I discovered recently.
This product is vegan and ammonia-free!

You can dye / retouch your hair in 7 easy steps.
The preparation and process will usually take you an hour.
Please also note that I am not a professional hair colorist ;)
This is just to show you guys how I color my hair at home.

1. Buy your box of chosen hair color
I have chosen Herbatint with the shade of 5N Light Chestnut.
My goal is to make the color of my hair even again.

2. Prepare your hair coloring tools!

3. Wear an old shirt
This is to avoid stains. :)

Yeaahhhhh.. I used a plastic bag to protect my shirt lol

4. Prepare the product
Simply place the hair color gel & developer to your mixer. Other hair color brands have their own mixing container, but for this one you need your own mixer for the products.

5. Apply the mixed product in your hair
I like to part my hair into 4 different sections to make sure that I applied all the product.
I always start from my roots until the end of my hair.

6. Wait for 30-40 minutes
Set a timer on your phone and wait for 30-40 minutes.
For other hair color brands: Follow the instructions given on your product box.
Don't leave it too long to avoid damaging your hair.

7. Rinse!
Finally rinse your hair with the shampoo and conditioner that's included inside the product box.

RESULTS...

Honest review with  Herbatint:
- I honestly thought my hair would turn lighter but I'm happy with the results since the color of my hair is even again.
- I like how the product doesn't make my scalp itchy unlike other hair coloring brands.
-  I'm surprised that my hair feels soft after the process.
- I would definitely recommend this product, especially to my vegan friends
- Rating: 8/10
