HOW TO MOVE ON AFTER A BREAKUP

Sunday, April 3, 2016

Moving on.
Just the sound of it makes me don't want to go on...
But I still need to.
So here it goes
We all go through a same kind of experience
and its called heartbreak.

Its ironic because when I started to compose this post,
I was still trying to move on from my past heartbreak.
I may sound crazy but I got way too attached to someone who was never even mine.
It was a one sided attachment, which is one of the worst feelings you could ever feel.

This is the guy is behind all my unsent letters (An Open Letter To The Person I Can't Let Go)
but now, someone came into my life unexpectedly & changed everything. (you know who you are so if you're reading this, A  you have no idea how much you make my days complete)

I know some of you are having a hard time coping with breakups.
Here are some tips that could help you when it comes to moving on:

1. CRY TILL YOUR EYEBALLS POP

When your friend asks you, "Uy, okay ka lang?"
You:

Stop pretending. We all know you're not.

It's okay to cry, you're hurt and you need to let it out. Its totally normal.
So, if you need to spend the whole day crying until your eyes feel dry then do it.
Order a whole box of pizza and whole pint of ice cream for yourself and cry your eyeballs out.

2. IT'S OVER, REALIZE THAT & MOVE ON

Your friends: "Huy, lets go to Pool na! We miss you!"
You be like: "It's okay, don't worry about me. I have plans tonight!"
But in reality you're inside your room like:

Go out with your family and friends.
You need to socialize in order to forget the sadness that's totally consuming you. Go out and have fun because it helps a lot, plus-you'll never know... you might meet someone along the way! ;-)

and please, don't drink too much. Yes it helps but it can never fully heal you.

3. MAKE A NEW HOBBY
Keep yourself busy and make a new hobby.
Workout..
 Travel and explore new places..

Having a busy schedule helps a lot in keeping your mind occupied in other things. :)
and besides, its cool to have a new hobby. Live your life to the fullest and enjoy it while it lasts. ;-)

4. STAY AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

STALKING AFTER A BREAK UP CAN LEAD TO CRYING
OR DYING (INSIDE) lol

Stalking is never a good idea especially when you're trying to move on.
Lurking through your ex's twitter account will only lead you back to day 1 of moving on.

There was a time that I had my breakup, I was finally doing good until one night I decided to stalk my ex's Facebook only to find out that he's dating a new girl weeks after our breakup.
So yupp, I cried in front of my laptop screen for hours thinking
But hey, every time I remember that day now it makes me laugh lol

5. CUT ALL THE CONNECTIONS

I always remind myself not to block my ex after a breakup.
I'm not the type of person who blocks/unfriends my ex after a breakup. I always believed in myself that I can get through this phase even if I still see him posting on my timeline.
I want to show that person that I'll be better off without him. ;-)
Unless the presence of their tweets really bothers me, that's when i'll block them haha!
Cut that toxic person in your life. Blocking them on social media can be help your move on.

7. FOCUS ON YOURSELF

You're whole without someone else.
you don't need anyone to validate your existence
because the best project you'll ever work on is you.

8. STAY POSITIVE

#SINGLEPROBLEMS

I guess we can never fully move on, we have to accept the fact that some people in our lives will only be with us temporarily to teach us a lesson then we'll have to go through our lives again..
without them.

Don't let your breakup damage your whole being.
Learn to stay positive despite of the hurt you're currently feeling.
Remember that this is just a phase, it'll get better soon :)

You know, breakups somehow make you realize that no matter how hurt you are.
It makes you a stronger person.

Time can heal youthe breakup you're experiencing right now is actually a learning experience.

I've been hurt, left and cheated, but that won't stop me from going on with life.
We just have to trust that everything happens for a reason and someday we'll be able to say,
"Thank god I didn't end up with him"
